Space controlled by the dweller

Usually a house is made of spaces with their own function and dimension, forcing the dweller to adapt to that situation.

  1. This could be related to some pre-modern houses, where residential space was organised without defining functions, but only defining spatial qualities (big, small, high, low, views, closed...) and the levels of privacy (be alone, share space, invite people...). This, I think, is a very interesting topic that can help us to rethink contemporary housing.
